		<description>At last, someone picks the outstanding record of the decade — I’m saddened by its absence from every other “Noughties” chart I’ve seen.

Achtung Bono stands out for all the reasons you’ve mentioned but for me what marks it out from all other HMHB records are the tunes. It’s possibly the one recording that would’ve sounded great with anyone’s lyrics; with NB’s it’s simply outstanding.

PS. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who recognises For What is Chatteris as both the stand-out track and a truly great love song.

PPS. Not quite so sure about the rest of your list. Keane?!</description>
