A room full of drama teachers listening to Bjork
Half Man Half Biscuit’s “list songs” are always good, especially when – as with Breaking News – they give Nigel the chance to fit as many things as possible into three minutes which irritate him. And indeed, probably most of us. Actually, I have a friend and fellow Biscuit fan who called his son “Fred”, only a couple of years before this song came out. Which must have been embarrassing.

What an excellent site!
For what it’s worth, I gave you a plug on my own blog.

I just wanted to say, I love this ‘song’. I agree with the above comment, this is a very well designed website. Thanks for all the effort you must have put into it.

A couple of missing words in Breaking News:
Line 5 after ‘……Operation Less Pricks, and kindly granted… ‘
add ‘permission for’
keep up the good work

Just listened to this a few times, and I think it’s: ‘A man who informED people that he gets up at six am every morning and seemed to want a medal’
Not: ‘A man who informS…’ people.
The former makes better grammatical sense, and I think you can hear the ‘ed’ sound on the song. The relevant bit it as at 2:38.

Just had a listen to both versions, in the Peel session it sounds like “informed” but the LP one I’m sure is “informs”.

Jeez. As someone who wears his pedantry with pride, every so often I feel completely humbled by you lot.
