Aaah. The Findhorn community of course was a big influence on the paganism of Summerisle in The Wicker Man, and I would wager my last hag stone that NB57 came to this line via that route.

Once again Ricardo, thank you for these crumbs that fall from your literary smorgasbord.

Picking up the bucolic baton from Mr Exford’s excellent post over on the “Tending the Wrong Grave…” comments page, I humbly draw your attention to The Findhorn Garden Story - a pictorial record of those delightful old eco-hippies up in Scotland - in which we find the following passage:

“By drawing us back into myth and legend and into cooperation with the spirits of the Earth, the elves and fairies and gnomes, Findhorn invites us to a more ancient time when man was young and shared his world knowingly with these beings. This priceless gift of wonderment invites us to become as little children, dancing within an elven ring of quicksilver delight and walking near the majesty of the great god Pan.”

Sorry - I hadn't noticed the link on Chris's message when I posted. Truth is stranger than fiction apparently.

Not only is "From the Indies to the Andes in his Undies" a 1940s song (as the HMHB discog notes point out) but it's on YouTube ...though I'm not sure I could actually recommend it.

Just found this site. A great resource. I'm no good at tabs but I've chords for a load of HMHB stuff if it's any good to you. Fabulous to get the full lyrics to Eno (wonderful song but an absolute bitch to perform). I couldn't make out that "light aircraft" line for the life of me. I'll get cracking on the songs you need help with. We're working on King of Hi-Vis for the next show.
