Those funeral arrangements
Dead Men Don’t Need Season Tickets is one of those glorious songs which touches on a subject which probably shouldn’t be touched on, but you can’t help but smile when you think about it. Thanks to Jon, gnick and Grev

I always thought it was “turn his side of the room into a shrine”, and “An arm round her shoulder”, which rather knackers your headline.
Could be wrong, have a listen and see what you think

I had a listen
And I thought
(But not for long)
Because I quickly realised
That you were quite right…
(I blame trying to do too many songs in one sitting)

Sorry, should have added that I really appreciate your herculean efforts on this site!
Must be a bitch when some people only comment if you get a line wrong!

S’OK, the whole point of the site is to get them lyrics right! It also appears that a lot of people only come here for the thrill of discovering that they’d mis-heard just one word for the last umpteen years…

Or indeed to find that someone else can hear what you can’t – which is why I’m really looking forward to San Antonio Foam Party coming around.
As has been said Chris, thanks for the compiling bit, great stuff.

Sounds like ‘I’m a Hotelier’ which would mean another attempt to profit from the grieving widow.

Definitely “Now Im no hotelier” as in “Im no expert on these things but…”
also I thought “his side of the room” too if further support were needed

I’ve always heard this line as “Away from all the relates”
As in, giving Nigel poetic license, avoiding the extended family relations that always seem to crawl out of the woodwork at times like these.

Surely it’s ‘his side of the room’, i always thought ‘away from all the relates’, part of the joy of biscuit love is hearing genuine neologisms (oo-er) or neologrammans or summat and calling relations relates sounds like one to me, and isn’t it ‘but i just thought i’d tell yer’, one of them pleasurably over-syllabled lines that really work your tongue when you sing it.

“his side of the room”, defo.
Apart from the fact that that’s what he sings, I can’t see the narratorial first person of this song actually being in the bedroom of his deceased mate. Not this soon after his unfortunate demise anyway.

I’m confused, and not for the first time, where does anyone say it’s anything other than “his side of the room?”

In the lyrics Ben.

My bad, I didn’t even bother looking cause Chris agreed with the first bloke who suggested it was “his side”

Hah, just me, as usual, agreeing with someone and then failing to do what they told me. Story of my life.
