I’ve asked everybody in Kazakhstan
Bob Wilson – Anchorman has dated somewhat because it’s astonishing how quickly Bob Wilson, as a TV footy presenter, has fallen out of the collective memory. He was pretty awful, it has to be said, although not as bad as Lineker was in the beginning. Sorry, I’m going off on one. Get Baker and Kelly doing MoTD, that’s what I say.

Stevenson should be Stephenson, as in this chap http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Stephenson

Picky I know, but I think the last line is ‘bloke’ rather than ‘one’.
Keep up the good work!

Brilliant site. Thanks so much for doing this. Nice to see there is more than one Gareth Jones who has an interest too! (It’s not the Gareth Jones who did the wonderful Leaden Pall cover photo is it?)

Perusing Bob Wison’s Wikipedia page, as you do, I notice 2 things in particular:
(i) whoever posted the photo probably works in an all-night garage.
(ii) there is no reference whatsoever to Our Lads’ immortalisation of his otherwise fairly insignificant career. Needs adding methinks …

Just listening to this one and it’s “I’m cold and I’m hungry”, not “It’s cold…”

My eldest needs to work on his English GCSE.
Being mildly autistic, he doesn’t really get how to look at a piece of text and make lots of statements of the blatantly obvious about what it’s about and how it achieves its purpose.
So I sit with him, we listen to HMHB songs, and we look at the lyrics on here, and he tells me why it’s funny. It works really well.
That’s how I stumbled across this one. We’ll keep working!
